Imagine you are on holidays and you are spending time looking at these cheap import stores, you look up at one of the shelves and see something that seems to be out of place. I asked the person that if he could show me what appears to be a real camera, next to some plastic toy cameras.
YES, it appears to be a REAL 35mm LEICA camera, I have found my lost love; I wanted one so hard that there is was. I could not believe it, how can it be true that a real Leica camera is sold in a place like this. Like in a poker game I paid little attention to this camera, I asked for the price knowing that $500 us dollars would be a bargain. YES, the guy wanted $120 dollars for it, I asked if I could take some pictures with it, as I did, and return the camera. The pictures came out not so good, some of them looked sharp but it appears that the camera needs some repairs. The next day I returned to the shop and enquire how that camera ended up there, I was told that the previous owner needed some quick money and sold that camera real cheap. I bought the camera for $80 dollars. I do not really know if I was the fool, I have never seen a real 35 mm Leica camera (I have a d-lux2) so I do not know if this one is a fake. If this is a real camera it must have been lost or stolen, I decided to give it a try and find the real owner before I adopt this camera, and this is the purpose of this posting. If any of you out there have lost or have your camera stolen in Colombia please post any info together with the details of the lens, if you have a bill of sale or the correct serial number I will return the camera to you, just pay the delivery and if possible the $80 dollars I paid for the camera. Yes, I have looked a lost and stolen Leica home page and nothing. I will send this information to Leica directly as well. Please post your information in this forum, no private messages. |

Well, you may be right but the person claiming the camera will want to satisfy themselves as to the authenticity of the claim and the reliability of the report. It might work out for someone, it might not but it would help if a picture could be posted with the serial number maked off...

@marknorton - You will get any picture you require, with every serial on it you dream of. One of the serial numbers posted here will match. You will be asked to tranfer the money in advance. There will be delays, unforeseen difficulties / fees. After all, you will have lost some money and you will definitely never hold any camera in your hands.
The chances that this is no scam are 1 : 1000000. |

augenschmaus]Just a thought: For me, this story sounds like genuine scam crap. If it schould be not, please accept my apologies
Do not worry about a scam, I will send the camera to THE OWNER he will pay for the postage, then if the person decides to pay my $80 dollars its OK. Here there is a photo of the camera without the lens, I will use the description of the lens as proof of ownership -Will anyone tell me how to post an image here and I will post the images |

If your odds are 1 to 1.000.000, I will take your bet and for $10 dollars. Will bring the camera in person. |

I doubt you will ever find the owner of that camera if indeed it was lost or stolen, so enjoy it in good health. I applaud your honest intentions!

cuatro.jpg I thank some of you that at least give me the benefit of the doubt. I have tried to insert the pictures but have not been able to do so. I will not give any reference to the lens so to make it easier for the owner reclaims it. Remember I do not know if this is a real Leica M6 |

Simple - if you ihink it might be your camera ask sebas2pol to take the camera to a branch of your bank and ask them to confirm the serial number. Then tell the bank to hand over the money whilst they hold the camera in their hands to your order.

Well after viewing the image properties of the file "cinco.jpg" of the above M6. The Photo is confirmed to be taken by a Leica D-lux2 on 7th August 2006.....Which confirms sebas2pol has access to a image of a M6 taken by a D-lux2
If you do a search of the filename "cinco.jpg" on images.google.com there are hundreds of photos with the name "cinco.jpg" none of which are of a Leica M6. So his photo probably has not come from the internet. My conclusion (with 75% certainty +/- 26% ) that this is indeed an act of a good samaritan. |
