Leather Sling

Well Leicagoodies web store is no more and I wanted a sling so I rigged up a sling-like leather grip from an old camera strap. Actually I like it better then the original. I had a handstrap but it required an Arca plate on the bottom -this is much more minimilist (then a handstrap) and it works better.

Well I was going to say that you could have bought one of these - SLING - , but there seems to be a temporary hiatus with the company. I got one for my D2 and it's very good.

Is that a soft release button you have on the shutter release?

Yes from Tom A. Squeeze with the second joint of my finger rather then the tip (as in trigger finger position in picture) gives me an extra stop I think.

Also having worked on computer paint systems long before the Knoll brothers first thought of Photoshop - my forefinger and the connecting tendons have the graphic artist's version of carpal tunnel syndrome (from overuse of a mouse in 25 years of image editing). This position puts no strain on the finger or hand.

I have two Leica Goodies type slings free to anyone who wants them - first come first served. I have bought a handle for my M8, so don't now need one for that and the other came off my now sold Contax G2. Finger size medium to slim. These are slightly wider, fractionally thicker softer material and thus a bit more comfortable than original Leica Goodies slings. Somewhere I also have an original Leica Goodies sling and if I find it in my big clear out next week, that will also be up for grabs.
