I have noticed that with my M8, the intensity of the display varies periodically during a certain time when the camera is switched on. To put it differently, the luminosity of the screen changes periodically (about every second) for some time (it seems to vary between 20 seconds and a minute or two) when the camera is started.
This is clearly visible and systematically reproducible by #1 Switching the camera on #2 Displaying the menu The "blinking" is pretty obvious. This has most likely not impact at all on the picture quality. I am wondering whether this is visible on all cameras. Could it be caused by an issue with the battery ? Franck |

Don't have that on my M8. Turn the camera on, hit the menu button, Menu comes up and display is at steady brightness. No blinking of any kind.

Same here. I can see it when looking at the menu and looking at a picture though not on the funtion menu (the set button). This changing light intensity does not always show up but when it does it is approx. a 1 sec cycle.
Man I wish Leica would check these cameras properly before shipping. I already had a totaly mis-focused mechanism repaired here in the Netherlands. Also the amount of dust on the sensor is incredible. ![]() Lately I have what I believe is an other issue, which I'm not sure has been reported here before; when I turn on the camera, nothing happens till I press the firing button. It is like it is a sleep. It doesn't show the battery and amount of frames left till the firing button has been pressed. Regards, Etienne |
