Click in 1:2/50 Summicron-M focus ring--confirm?

My 1:2/50 Summicron-M arrived yesterday and after doing some test shooting I noticed that the focus ring does the following:

(1) Rotate focus all the way to the left gently and hit the stop.

(2) Once all the way to the left, push left some more and the focus ring "clicks", rotates left 1 mm or so, and a final stop is hit. I didn't notice any change in focus.

Same behavior when turned to the right.

Feels like there is play in there. (My 1:2/35 Summicron-M does not exhibit this behavior with the focus ring.)

Is this second 1mm "stop" in the focus ring after a click there for a reason? Or, can someone confirm that is this a mis-adjustment and the lens should be returned to B&H for a replacement?
