Have anybody experienced this with the M8 ? In every picture taken indoors with fluorescent light? Outdoor NO problem.
2 days ago I got exactly the same problem as Sean Reid - http://www.leica-camera-user.com/dig...oh-me-too.html I have now sent the camera back to my dealer in Oslo, and they have promised me to send a new camera. Freddy Larsen Norway |

Looks like you have a light leak and it is reflecting the sensor, what lens and did you try other lenses

50 mm summicron - iso 320, but I have the same problem even with iso 160 - as I mention, I don´t have this problem shooting outdoor - only when I´m shooting indoor with
fluorescent light. Freddy Larsen Norway |

Those are little cells of pattern noise, not internal reflections which would have rounder edges.
How are you setting your white balance? AWB or manually setting the WB to tungsten when indoors, to daylight when outdoors. WB seems like the thing which would be strictly different when outdoors vs indoors. Depending on your practices with white balance, you might shoot outside with tungsten white balance or whatever the EXIF tells you you have indoors) and see if the problem moves outdoors then. (If you still have access to the camera.) scott |

Freddy blow up your outdoor shots on screen to about 200 percent and look around

I remember getting similar affect while I was in Paris with my Fuji S2Pro. It turned out to be low battery. Would it be that in this case?

Maybe something may be wrong with the 50 cron not sure but I would inspect it. Not sure what you have going on but always good to do the process of elimination. Glad the dealer is sending a new M8 . Keep us posted

Guy, I have tried everything - up and down, but the same thing is happening all the time - remember I also got the same problem as Sean Reid described in his thread http://www.leica-camera-user.com/dig...oh-me-too.html My M8 is sent away.
Thanks for your comments. Freddy Larsen Norway |

it surely is pretty weird
is it only that light source i notice an overhead spot reflecting on the glass prismatic aberation ? consistent clue is the size of the aberation and a set of colours

Sorry to hear about your problems, very scary indeed.... If you live in Oslo you can try out some of my lenses, they work fine on my M8, i have CV15, Summicron 35/2, Elmarit-90/2.8 and a Summicron 50/2 like you... let me know if i can help you out until you get your lenses... :-) Du finner mail adressen min her: www.alexandertufte.com |
