I have a PNY 1gb SD card that I've used for a couple hundred shots. After shooting and filling the card today I got a "card full" message. When I go to download the images there are none to download. When I try to playback the images on the M8, "no valid image.." is shown!?!? Anyone have any help on what's going on and how to help. I can reformat the card, but I'd rather not lose the photos.
Also, I've now tried the card in 2 other cameras and they both show a card error. Never had a problem before! Thanks for your help. -Ron |

Ron,
Pain....I feel your pain! I've had SD cards fail on me. A bad experience. I was shooting at a friends wedding. When I got home my then 256Mb TwinMOS card (I'll never by anything from them again) full of D2 JPEGS was corrupt. I managed to recover most of the shots, but some were lost. I used a program called RescuePRO. Sandisk bundles it with some of their cards, but it is also availeble for online purchase. From this page at Sandisk's website there is a link to the publisher's site. Check the "A special discount just for you" paragraph. There is even a cupon code that gives you a discount. SanDisk | Products | Professional Products | Software Downloads | RescuePro I can't guarantee that this will help you get you images back, but at $40 - rebate for a single seat home locense it might be worth a shot. Besides its a good little tool to have in one's arsenal just in case. Make sure you write protect the card until you're done with the resque attempt. You don't want to have anything written to the card before this process is over. Edit: Download their demo before you pay for the software. It might be that the version linked to is tied to Sandisk's cards. They have a slightly more expensive version that dosen't seem to be tied to Sandisk's media, at $60 it is still rerasonably priced. Best of luck! - Carl Last edited by cbretteville : 01/08/07 at 10:27 AM. |
