Default Vbulletin

Hello all,
this is my first post on the new forum.

After enjoying the previous Leica forum so much, I wanted to set up a forum for a group of friends. And being impressed with the old Leica forum so much, I was all set to go with the Discusware software.

Then the Leica forum changed location, and the board software was changed to Vbulletin.
I am not considering purchaseing VBulletin to put my board into effect.

Before spending $160 for a license, I want to make sure I make the right decision.

My question to you is: how do you like this software so far?

Is there another such software that you prefer?

I am sure that Leica did its homework, and if they chose Vbulletin, im sure its one of the best solutions available.

My one real complaint about the new Forum is to do with posting more than one photo.
In the old one you could post several photos at one time and have a variable spacing between them for titles, info, and general appearance. AFAIK this is not possible on the new. One can post multiple photos - but they are squashed up together. :-((

I think you can separate the photos by adding a return after each photo updload?

Yes I was indeed right . . . upload photo . . . go to the reply page and add a return by hitting the return key . . .then add another photo in the manage attachments button . . . upload another photo . . . the second photo should appear below the first.
Cheers,
JTH

If you don't like the 'attached images' frame and you can store your pics somewhere on the web you might wish to try the IMG code as well:

[ I M G ]http://image_address.jpg[ / IMG ]

(removing spaces)

Phillip,

vBulletin has many good features, some of which aren't used here on the Forum. It isn't as pared down as the old software but it's not too busy in my opinion. As far as I know it has a good user base.
