Default processing raw photo;s D-lux4

Ok so I've upgraded the firmware on my d-lux4 and now find out that I can no longer use the capture one software that came with the camera to process these raw photo;s ........... what are my options at this point - other than going back to the original firmware that came with the camera . I really don't have any money to spend on a new program or software ...... any ideas ?????

thanks for your time and consideration Larry

For the next 2-3 months you can use the Adobe Lightroom 3 Beta which is free and works like a full program...

Adobe Labs - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3

Apple also has 30 days free for Aperture 2. Outside of that, I'm sure there is a free program somewhere out there.

OK ... I'm confused ... why would upgrading your firmware to the newest version have anything at all to do with the usability of your Capture One software?

I can use the capture one software but it doesn't recognize raw photo's , so I have no way to adjust them in this program ?

I'm running firmware 2.2 and have no problems using Capture One to process RAW files (???). Maybe you have to wave a dead chicken over your DL4.

+1 I'm also running firmware 2.2 on the DL4 and Capture One sees the raw files just fine.

Maybe you should try reinstalling the firmware 2.2 update.

Larry--
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you're having a problem.

I don't think you can go back to the original version of the camera's firmware, but you might want to try that if it worked for you. If that works, your problem is solved.

The current firmware version is 2.2. Others here are using 2.2 and using Capture One without hassle, so you might want to install 2.2.

You aren't trying to create DNGs from the RWL files, are you? Leica had Phase One disable that capability some while back. But everything else should work with no trouble.

First, get FW 2.2.

Then if the problem is still there, we need more specifics:
Which version of Capture One?
Mac or PC? Which OS?
What steps do you follow and what response do you get?
What tells you that C1 isn't recognizing the RWLs?
etc.

Maybe I'm incorrect ( which wouldn't be the first time ) that there have been quite a bit of problems with the 2.2 upgrade , short battery life , poor low light results , to name a few .......... I've been afraid to upgrade to the 2.2 firmware .......... I'm not sure what to do ? I really don't want to give up the good points of the camera just to be able to convert raw photo's .....

I would greatly appreciate any and all input in this matter .......... thank-you for your time.

Larry

Again ... I'm confused. I'm also still using version 2.1 and I have no problems at all using Capture 1 to process the RAW files produced by my D-Lux 4.

Perhaps you need to reinstall Capture 1.
