Default Please help...

I've been trying to get my hands on a E39 IR CUT 486 filter for week's now with no luck,
since i'm a "one lens only" for most of the time, i tought this filter stuff was an easy catch.
Since i have to wait until february for the filters from Leica, i'm a bit desperat at the moment, i'm going traveling for a big documentary shoot right after christmas and i would really like to do this with my M8 (of course, that's why i bought it...) so now to the big question: IS THERE ANYONE IN HERE WITH A SPARE E39 IR CUT FOR SALE, since i have a 50/2 which uses E39, and a 35/2 i really need two anyway, and the other one from Leica is going on my 90/2...

Any tips for a E39 filter for sale, will be more than welcome :-)

Thanks in advance...

Best Regards

I have the same problem, but I am after E46 (which covers my three main lenses). I 'bought' a couple from a German dealer nearly a month ago but it turned out the dealer didn't actually have stock and is waiting for B+W to supply. All other suppliers I have contacted (in UK, USA and Germany) either don't know what I am talking about or they are also awaiting stock from B+W. The situation is a royal PITA because, until I get the filters, I daren't use the camera for the professional work that I bought it for.

Foto-Huppert has them in stock. They will ship internationally. I have two coming, ordered last week. They should be here next week, but with Israeli mail, I can never be sure. It should be quicker to continental Europe or the US.

I could not get any of the sizes I need so I bought three filters with assorted
step up rings. That covers my lenses from 135 to 21. Sure it's a pain changing
but the color is so much better.

Hi, i'm sorry but they do not have E39 IR CUT in stock, but they are very service minded and told me to wait for a week or to, and then maybe... so i'm still in the same spot...

Bets Regards

Alexander,
Seems to be impossible to find them at the moment, especially the 39mm ones.

BTW. I know you did sell your DMR because you wasn't happy with it.. How you like the M8 in comparison? happy with it except for the IR problems?

Hi

Love the camera, but i hate the filter "solution", besides this i think the M8 is somewhat a more real Leica than the DMR, with buttons and wheels falling off and such, this is NOT what i consider to be "good old Leica, german tank quality" but i loved the image quality it provided...
