Default Any M8 examples of Summilux 50 vs. Noctilux ?

I ordered a Summilux 50 mm for my M8 that I already purchased with a 28 mm ASPH. I saw some excellent pictures in this forum, made with the Noctilux and M8.

I'm wondering if someone could demonstrate the major characteristics (not technical) of both 50 mm lenses. Maybe somebody has pictures made with both lenses for comparison. Thanks !

There are some Noctilux shots in this thread on another board:

Towards the end, I think there might be some M8 shots with the Noct. The 50 Lux Asph is very sharp, surgical even, but the Noct is much more subtle and soft, with good potential as a portrait lens on the M8. It is a beast though, one of the largest M lenses, and as heavy as the camera.

My take on it is ... you own and use the Noctilux to shoot at f1.0 ... so you can never realy compare it to the summilux
Seriously .. the Noctilux is an excellent performer stopped down .. but there is not much sense to use this large heavy lens only stopped down.
Closest focus distance of the Noctilux = 1m, Summilux: 0,7 m .. important diffrenece if you want to use the lens for portraits.

4 samples with Noctilux with M8 at f1.0

Here are some images with 50/1.4asph, noctilux, cron and Elmarit:
50mm_leica_m_lenses Photo Gallery by TOM at pbase.com

I havent used the Noctilux much (since I havent owned it for long time) but my first impressions with the 50s:
Noctilux: I really like what I see, good contrast, even wide open, very nice bokeh, I like the overall look
50lux/asph: very good handling, images seem to have very good contrast and saturated color, maybe a little "finer" detail, maybe more subtile color rendition than the Noctilux but the Noctilux images look more powerfull to me.
I decided to keep them both and to sell the cron.

TOM That s a very useful test. I always thought the Notilux had a certain beauty about how it renders skin tones . Using a pink flower works well as a test. The summilux has the fine detail but a somewhat harsh look . The summicron has a nice all around look ..I always thought the summicrons had a warmer look than the summilux . A lot will depend on what your typical subject matter is and how you like the lens to "draw" the image. Again thanks really useful.

Thank you very much, everybody. The Noctilux performs in a very esthetic way. At the moment I would prefer the lightweigth and sharpness of the Summilux for my purposes. But the Noctilux is really some lense to save for.

It would be interesting to compare the Noctilux and the Summilux at f/1.4 and f/2. These are fast similar apertures. We know the Summilux have not a f/1 aperture, and the two lenses are good performers stopping down. Comparisons at f/1.4 and f/2 are interesting, in my opinion.
