Default AW: Neoprene Case for M8

Joaquin,

I use a short nose version together with a luigi half case. It fits; no problem at all with either a 28 'cron, 35 'cron or 50 'lux.

Cheers,

Norbert

2 Tumbs up for the long nose neoprene case. It's perfect to carry about, fast to remove and fits upto my 90 cron. It's light and unobtrusive. When I remove the case, it just dandle connected to the strap, and because it's so light, I hardly notice it. I got the black one. Would have wished for a battery case perhaps connected to the bottom of the case.

Looks like third-market item made for Leica at a much higher price...not worthy, IMHO. A case-within-a-case? HA!

Joaquin- My honest answer is I don't know but quite possibly but would that not be a little over kill?

Joaquin,

I use the short neoprene case over a luigi half case, and it fits just fine. I don't think it's an overkill, the luigi case is very good when shooting, the half case gives extra protection when the camera is thrown in my backpack, i.e., the neoprene is more of a storage protection thing, while the Luigi is used all time.

One fix for the loop on strap issue is to cut a piece of double sided velcro tape so that its about 1/4 inch wide and use it to attach the case loop to camera strap so that the case can be easily removed. The only problem with this and the velcro on the case itself is that the leica strap gets roughed up a bit by the velcro hooks. Anyone else had this problem with the velcro roughing up the straps?
Occasionally I attach the case to the strap using the existing velcro patches. It avoids it slipping out of a pocket or being left on someone else's table! It is easily fixed to avoid blocking the lens.

I have the long one, which fits with the Zhou leather half case, and 75/1.4 lux fine, the 50/1.4 lux's with caps and even hood on early non-retractable one fit easily. Too much space for just a small 35 on it or small 50 though.

These are fine for good weather use, but for extreme weather or wet, a neoprene wrap like the Zing bags would seal the camera much better than the Leica one, which isn't weather proofed at all, but very nicely made.
