Leica 14320 : Design / History - who created it?

Hello -

 

I purchased the little Leica 14320 tripod recently.

 

Like most Leica products, it is a wonderful, simple, effective design. I wonder if anyone might have information on who designed it [and perhaps the history of the product]. I have written about it here : 76 thinkmore

 

I have contacted Leica, and am waiting to hear back. In my experience, however, unless a product is designed by a 'brand-name' designer hired for a specific product - or is someone with a high profile [Dieter Rams for Braun], most designers who work within a company are classified as 'inhouse design'....

 

Any information, and your thoughts about the product / design, would be appreciated.
