GaryBrighton Posted April 23, 2009 Share #1  Posted April 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear All  I just bought my M6TTL and two lenses. 35 and 90mm.  As I'm completely new to rangefinder photography, I'd just like some guidance on viewfinder frame lines.  I understand that there are 6 sets, 2 to each setting in the viewfinder. Therefore, I presume that the 90mm (for instance) will be the inner frame lines to the viewfinder in its respective setting? The 35mm the outer set in its respective setting?  Can someone confirm as I'm just about to go and shoot lots of film this weekend.  Sorry to sound dim but I just want to get it right rather than waste lots of expensive film, especially as I don't have my own darkroom facility.  Thanks in advance for your help.  Gary

doubice Posted April 23, 2009 Share #2 Â Posted April 23, 2009 Hello Gary, Â Congratulations on your new acquisition! Â I assume that your M6TTL has the more common 0.72x finder. This finder will display 3 sets of frames, in pairs - 28/90, 50/75 and 35/135. So - when your 90mm lens is mounted, the outer frame lines are for the 28mm lens (not for the 35mm), the inner frames are for the 90mm lens. Â The frames are inserted automatically, when you mount the 35mm lens, it will be quite obvious that the outer frame is for the 35mm lens and the four tiny corners are for the 135mm. Â Now - if your M6TTL has the 0.85 finder, the frames will appear as 35/135, 50/75 and 90 - that camera does not have a 28mm frame. Â Best, Â Jan
earleygallery Posted April 23, 2009 Share #3 Â Posted April 23, 2009 You are correct. If you didn't get a manual with your camera go to the Leica website and download the MP manual which will explain the viewfinder settings and metering.
