At long last I have got round to setting out my ideas (OK, it was my wife's idea in the first place...) for the "Day in the Life of a Leica" thread.
The idea is extremely simple. On a chosen day, and I am suggesting January 1st 2007, anyone who cares to contribute should post an image onto the forum, in a thread that I shall set up specifically the day before. As with everything in life, there should be some rules, and, in order to save the planet and have some fun at the same time, the suggestion was that the photographs should be taken without the use of a mechanical means of transport. So, the shots should be taken wherever you happen to be or can get to without using a car, or other fuelled transport. If you can walk 30 miles from your place to get the shot, or cycle 100 miles, that's fine. The shot must have been taken on the day, otherwise it would just be an open thread. The shots can be of anything you like, using any Leica camera/lens you like and any film or digital medium you like. No prize, no entry fee, just a long thread with lots of pictures (if people contribute) One shot per customer – just choose the best shot you take on the day. This really is just a bit of fun to start the New Year off and no big deal. I know that many have already said that they are interested, so I think this could be a great opportunity to see what people get up to on one particular day. We could have all the seasons in one day, the aftermath of “the night before”, pictures from the top of mountains, at work, in your garden, absolutely anything. Who knows? Any questions, other than “Why?” ![]() The open thread for posting shots is here http://www.leica-camera-user.com/oth...tml#post130595

Good idea Andy. I'm in, even if I can't promise to be at my best on New Years Day ;-)

Excuse me Sir, if I don't have my M8 by then, and not doing film, can I contribute an R-D1 shot as long as it's taken with a Leica lens?

Good idea! My regards to Ann for comming up with it. I'm in. New Year's day with two todlers should be fun provided there is any light in which to shoot (OK, there is allways Neopan 1600).

Clever idea. I'm in. Although knowing how dreadful the weather can be in the USA's upper midwest in January, and without the use of motorized transport, I may be posting an image of my cat...

Sounds fun, I'm in. I hope that M8 comes in before then so I don't have to get my film developed
I have plenty of digitals but none involving Leica yet.Great idea, New Years around the world. Kent

If I shoot anything interesting I'll post it (after the film gets processed).

I'm in too, but it could be 2+ weeks later until my shot gets posted as I shall be on holiday (I don't carry a laptop around and there's no guarantee that I will be able to find a computer with RAW processing software).
