Andy

Excellent idea - I'll give it a go. (Subject to the usual caveat as to whether I'm in a fit state to do anything at all, the morning after the night before.)

John you can always take a shaky shot of the jars that you sucked empty the night before

I may as well use the D2, I bought it on New Years day(2005) brand new for about 1200 aussie pesos on ebay. no bidders over the 5 days Xmas to new year. A master stroke

A great idea - I predict my shot will look very much like the inside of QF 29 from Melbourne to Hong Kong, which takes off at 11:59pm on the 31st of December...

Thanks for the support, folks.

If we can't all have a bit of fun on New Year's Day, when can we?

Hi Andy,

Sounds if you've been to the Al Gore movie lately. The project is a great idea; I'll be in, provided that I can dispense with self-propelled transportation that day...

Best,
Norbert

Well, for the One Challenge, many of us flew into Paris (and Amsterdam the year before), just to have some fun.

With the previous thread about whether award winning photographs could be taken within 50m of home, it just seems like a sensible idea.

No one wants to drive or fly very far on New Year's Day unless they really have to anyway. Do they?

U mean I gotta look through Leica glass instead of a pint glass?..

Yep! It's a Monty. Could just bring out the worst in us all on that date.

Film guys and gals, I suggest shooting a 12 exp roll if you can't get through a 36 in reasonable time, just so we don't wait tooooo long for results. Or, do a clip test.

Cheers,
Erl

Count me in too.

I imagine we are all going to have a lot of motion blur or will be using fast shutter speeds on that morning.

Hello Andy,

Great idea, I've marked the day in my Outlook system already - how about the translation for the German forum?

The secret of course, will be to stay up till midnight, wait briefly, expose your image, then collapse as dersired. Technically made on Jan 1!

Yeah! Great theory. Practice may be a bit harder.

Cheers,
Erl
