Default M7 battery cover problem

My elderly father has just purchased an M7 but there seems to be an intermittent fault concerning the battery cover. Any pressure on the battery cover causes the camera to switch off & on. Any tips greatly appreciated - Thanks - Andrew

Any chance that the battery cover might not be fully engaged? If I recall correctly there were two stops when rotating the cover. I recall having to be pretty firm in rotating and locking it completely.

Thanks Bruce - It seems to be locked but short of using a pair of pliers to try any harder it seems to be at its final position. There is however still a slight movement in the cap which allows the battery to turn on-off!

Thanks - Andrew

Hi Andy - They're the Kodak K58L's - are you also a pilot? - Andrew

Pilot? No, afraid not, although my wife wants me to learn to fly so that we can live on a Scottish Island and I can still work in Manchester... (don't ask...)

Two of those fatter batteries will be more stable than 4 of the thinner ones, so that's my theory out of the door, I'm afraid

I can certainly recommend learning to fly - I took up flying microlights about 10 years ago & it's brilliant fun - lots of photo opportunities as well!

As to the M7 problem - I've cleaned the batteries & the camera contacts as well & that seems to have solved the problem!

Thanks for the input - best regards - Andrew
