What will you be photographing this Christmas? Friends, family -- surely a time to tripod mount the M and use the self-timer, those with an M2, 3 or 4. Snow, trees? Me, living on the sunny southern summer half of the planet, I am looking forward to escaping for a while into the wilderness and enjoying the wild west coast of New Zealand's South Island. Pictures sometime soon. Please feel free to share your plans and pictures here.

Family at the christmas meal thing + two new cats (exciting
).The feline objects (12 and 17 years old) were imported to our house last saturday, and were owned by a neighbour of my wife's uncle. Unfortunately the neighbour is not able to take care of them anymore as he is terminally ill & being cared for in a hospice. Since saturday we have been having territorial warfare going on with our own cat but this seems to be settling nicely, so we are optimistic that the new cats will fit in somehow. Anyway - we will be taking pictures of the cats in their new home and these will be given to the neighbour. I hope that this will provide some consolation & peace of mind. Life can be tough. Additional project for the holiday: Take some pictures of rose-ringed parkeets that live in the wild in The Hague (since 1968 or so), see here for the Dutch speakers. They are flying around in droves around 5-6pm and I will try to capture them in flight against a dark sky using a BIG flash. Have been reading up on flash speed, aperture etc. |
