Now that's what I call inflation worthy of Zimbabwe...

What a laugh! A humidor! And gloves!
I'm sorry, but anyway who buys this has entirely too much money and little sense.

This is definitely for collectors... David Farkass already sold the one allocated to his store... I saw the shipping box at this store today waiting for the owner to come pick it up.

Cheap!!!

Check out Schouten at 13.500 euro ex. vat

So inside Europe we would be charged 13,500 + 2,700(vat) = 16,200 euro = $ 22,393.26

All the jokes and sarcastic replies are getting extremely old. And by the way, it is not a humidor but rather the exact opposite.

People can't afford the lens? Fine. Nobody is laughing at them for not being rich enough. Why don't people go laughing at other people driving Ferraris? Why not laugh at all the private jets owners?

From what I deducted, after all this time, is that all those who are laughing at the Noctilux pricing are usually sad Voigtlander owners.

Me, if I had the money, I'd buy it without clinching exactly the same way a Pro Sports player goes into a Bar and burns 10K$ into booze and girls.

Don't forget, the box is dual purpose. You can also store your cigars in it.

Wrong. I own one, and my serial number isn't very far from the one shown at B&H. But, alas, I got no wooden box.

Oh, well... I'm one of the jokers... and a longtime collector with about 60 Leitz lenses, and just one Voigtlander 15mm (to use)... ... for me, it's only a matter of joking a little on the collectors' breed (that is, on, myself too... I'm sure that one could laugh looking at the number of FILTERS I put together in 25 years... and hasn't finished): of course, collectors are of different depth-of-pockets sizings... one looks for top items like "last 100 Noctiluxes" or "Leica I with Anastigmat / mint", another chases for old filters or cases or arcane Visoflex accessories...
BTW, I think Leica has done a rather right job with this kind of collectible: a great improvement on the inflation of "M special models" of years ago...

If the Ferrari came in a fancy wooden box and Ferrari charged 3x the normal price for the car, then yes people would laugh IMHO.

This is aimed at the collectors' market, and good luck to Leica if there are people prepared to pay so much for a box.

And I thought I had way too many Leitz/Leica and other lenses. Now I know I am far from qualifying for a Guiness Book of Records entry . Luigi, I feel SO relieved.

Andy, I'm with you, I have at times thought I've got way too much stuff, but this proves I can acquire for some time yet with complete impunity.
