A very sensible lineup of lenses is 24, 35, 50 and 90. So, in your case I'd now go for a 50, and later add a 90 followed by a 35. If you want to limit yourself to just three lenses, then 24, 35 and 75 is a good combination, too, in which case I would now go for the 75 and later add the 35.

24mm is never the first lens.
Maybe the second or third. Start with 35mm then buy 75 or 90mm and in the end 24mm. Don´t forget that you need a external viewfinder for 24mm. Quote:

![]() Which one goes with the 24? Well I've carried it with my 90 but it really depends on what you are planning to shoot. I think the choice is really between the 35 & 50.

As an M photog I already had 35, 50, 75, and 90. Used to have the 135 with goggles, but sold it.
As the M8 goes to 24 and up, and because of the images in Sean's review of this lens and Puts' rave comments, I bot the 24mm f2.8 asph. So, I have the finder if I use it on my M's and it fits the M8. BTW, I am pleased that Leica is taking its time getting the firmware down right. I also hope that our firmware will be updatable. Does anyone know anything about this? Regards,

azzo consider a CV 25mm finder. Much better than the Leica which IMHO is very poor. Rich Pinto (Photo Village) was selling the CV finder for $70 a month or so ago.

Azzo - I agree with Peter. I use a 24mm quite a lot, as I have macular degeneration, and the 24mm lets me zone focus. I have both the CV 25mm and the newer Zeiss 21, which approximates the FOV at infinity for the 24. The Zeiss is expensive, but the CV isn't - - and its clarity beats the Leica 24mm viewfinder by quite a bit.

Photo Village CV page Scroll down to under the camera pics at the top of the page. You'll see a table labeled: Demo/Used/Specials/Like New/Mint, "new old stock" and other "not-quite new" items from Voigtlander. The CV 25mm finder (now $89) is the first item in the table. Rich's email address is: rich AT photovillage DOT com, his phone nr. is 212-989-1252. Hope this helps.

Azzo, I also use the CV 25mm finder when shooting with my 24mm Leica lens. But make sure you get the newer version of the CV 25mm finder! The newer version is the one with a brightline frame, whereas the old version did not have a brightline. Cameraquest sells the new version for 139 USD I believe.

I am thinking in terms of equivalent FoVs.
28mm ---> 35mm 50mm ---> 70mm An alternative (logical) possibility would be 24, 35 and 75mm. 24mm ---> 32mm 35mm ---> 50mm 70mm ---> 90mm (aprox. correspondences) |
