Default Fungus?

I've read a large number of the posts regarding fungus in the archives and I still need a little help with "identification."

I have two screw mount lenses (50mm, f2, Summitar, and a 90mm, f4, Elmar). The Elmar has one small dot on the inner element of the lens with what looks to be a clear hole in the middle (makes it look like a donut). The Summitar has four or five of these dots.

Is that fungus or some other strange byproduct of a lens getting older?

Thanks.

Dan

Default Re: Fungus?

It's hard to say- but fungus usually looks like threads from a spider webs, starting from a center seed.
