Default Please help- summicron-m 50/2

Hi,
I just bought used SUMMICRON-M 50/2 serial number 395xxxx.
I have a few questions please-
1. The focus ring goes little bit beyond 0.7 (to the left- like towords 0.6) is it normal?
2. when the aperture ring is on 2 or 16 it can turn a bit more of a click and change the aperture – little bit open from 2 or little bit close from 16 (at 16 spot you can't get perfect round aperture like at 16.1. And lets says the aperture goes beyond 2 to 1.97 and beyond 16 to 16.1)
is it normal also? if I want to use aperture 2 or 16 how should I aim my aperture- to spot 2 or 16 or little bit beyond?

Many Thanks!

Hello,

1) ...is it normal? yes.
2) Normal? Yes.

In the real world there is no difference between ' f:1.97' and f:2 or ' f:16.1' and f:16..... Simply set the aperture ring to the desired click stop and shoot away.

Best,

Jan

Both 1 and 2: Normal! (Jan already said it.)
It's exactly the same with my Summicron 50.

Thirded. Mine does the same! Haven't noticed an appreciable difference in my exposures.

And once we are at it: Now is the time to change your user name to 'summicron_user'

Enjoy your new lens!
