Default Leica Factory Visit

Would any members here please advise how can I get to Solms from Frankfurt?

I will join the toured factory visit and I am staying in Frankfurt. I am going to Germany from Hong Kong so I don't know how to drive there.

Hi Bono , quite simple actually just enter "Frankfurt to Wetzlar" into Google Maps. You will get the road ( highway ) displayed blue and the full map.
Good luck and have a nice trip!

Since the poster is coming from Hong Kong, I take it that means he is not used to driving on the right hand side of the road. He's also probably not used to the Autobahn. My advice to him would be to take the train. Probably cheaper since he won't have to pay to park if he does so.

I would advise using this page:

How to travel by train in Europe: Eurorail, Eurail, Official fares and schedules from Rail Europe

You can find train schedules, prices, and even book tickets.

Good luck.

Autobahn driving is fine, even for us left-driving drivers, and of course no speed limit on some sections. Last month, my nerve ran out before the car did at 165 mph...

I visited the Leica factory last year, and it was excellent. Train is definitely the best way to get to Wetzlar, and very easy. It's about half an hour from Frankfurt, via Giessen. See DB-Konzern - Startseite for exact schedules. You may like to then stay in Wetzlar. You must then take a taxi to Solms. It's about 20 minutes and not expensive. Hope this helps. Please email me direct if you need any more info.

Cheers,
David
