Bridging the cultural divide
I am a relatively new player in the world of Leica, although some years ago I hankered after changing my Contax G1 for a Leica, but backed off. I understand where long-term Leica adherents are coming from and I learn a lot from reading LFI.
I own a Digilux 3 and a C-Lux 2 - please don't log out! I would treasure an M8. Some folks in the 'digital' section of this forum have been discussing the Digilux 3 and saying that it is a very fine camera. I really do agree. Leica and Leica culture has been challenged by the advent of digital technology. The response has been excellent, but it will take time for attitudes to change. International collaboration has given Leica what it needed and from several standpoints. This injection of thinking will mature under the Leica banner. For the foreseeable future, we can enjoy the best of both worlds with Leica culture, technology and quality in our hands. Amen |
