Default Heliar 12mm

I give it a try with M7 and M8.
VF lignes display correctly, but I can't get in focus.
Turning the focus ring, nothing happens in the VF.
Why ?

I'd assume that it is not rangefinder coupled - you'll need to estimate focus based on the distance markings on the lens. The depth of field should be pretty extensive on a 12mm lens, so focus shouldn't be too difficult to pin down.

Because this lens doesn't have any link to it.
Only hyperfocal works fine.

The lens isn't coupled to the camera rangefinder

I suspected this, now I'm sure thanks to you.
Hyperfocal it will be, then.

It should be extreemly difficult not to focus.

The DOF is so deep, you should not have any issues getting things in focus. On an M7, you have problem finding things to put in the frame, making sure that your body parts like feet and fingers are not in the frame, keeping it level, and stop having fun. On an M8... you will have the same problems, but to a lesser degree, but the fun is still there My 15mm... @ 5.6 my DOF is from 3ft to infinity or 1 meter to infinity.

Both the 12 & 15 are not RF focus coupled. Start having fun!!

Robert.
