I'm with Rick on this. Personally, I think the M8 forum was a mistake. A lot of the M8 threads just ended up in the Digital forum anyway.

I preferred the simplicity of the old forum - Customer, Digital, Photographs. I thought it worked well.

I would support a separate Alfie thread for Cannon bashing, requests for adaptors to fit the Hubble telescope to his OlyLeica, discussions of post-modernisim, etc, etc.

Hmm... nope I wouldn't want that... I don't need that attention thanx.

I prefer something a lil different...

Well, putting everything together works well until you want to look for a DMR-specific problem.

Right now, the forum search engine on the site doesn't allow DMR--it's a stop word. At least, it didn't the other day when I went to look for something. I saw this instead:

"The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : DMR"

So if they'd fix that, then we wouldn't need a separate forum.

And while it's true that I'm interested in all things Leica camera, but I only make money from the R9/DMR (and with any luck from the M8), so any way to filter out the other noise would be good when I'm really stuck on something.

Indeed, DMR under search does not work. I tried it too.

Of course M8 doesn't seems to do much either!

I think that the intention is to merge the M8 and Digital threads back into one, when the fuss over the M8 has died down... probably around 2009
