I don't get them that often, but I find it annoying that I don't get an email letting me know that I have a PM. Surely, this technological shortfall can be remedied, Andreas!

you will find the following option within the box labelled "Private Messaging", at about the middle of the page:

 

The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message.
