sharookh Posted October 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Every time I access the forum on my iPhone through Safari, I have to keep entering my user name and password. The opening window keeps prompting me to access the forum through an application. If I decline, I get an enormous pop up which requires to be cancelled to access the dialogue box for username and password input. Please someone- help me in resolving this. I've tried everything possible in my settings including leaving cookies on!!! So damn irritating!!!
Advertisement Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Hi sharookh, Take a look here Problem accessing the forum on the iPhone. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted October 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2014 When logging in you should see a check box labelled "remember me" or some such to the right of your user name. I always set this option. I do not use Safari on my mobile, though.
sharookh Posted October 12, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted October 12, 2014 Phillip - I do check the 'remember me' box..... Total frustration!!

otto.f Posted October 12, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I recognize Sharookh's problem, so I stepped into Tapatalk. But Tapatalk is not trustworthy in how it actualizes the information, e.g. formerly subscribed threads you have unsubscribed keep on coming up in your list and the amount of Thanks for posts and posted photo's is not correct. Sharookh, if you try Mozilla Firefox, does it remember you? Btw on my iPad Mini I have no problems using Safari for LUF Edited October 12, 2014 by otto.f
DigitalHeMan Posted October 12, 2014 Share #7 Posted October 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use Tapatalk and don't recognize any of the problems that Otto mentions. In fact I prefer to read the forum in Tapatalk on my mobile devices, rather than in my browser on a desktop - I would suggest giving it a go if you haven't tried already. LocalHero1953 Posted October 13, 2014 Share #8 Posted October 13, 2014 I use an iPad but don't have an iPhone. But, in Settings, and under Safari, there are various options for saving private information, including passwords. I've just looked at mine and it saves all my passwords. Might be worth checking if there are similar features on the iPhone, and yours is set to not save passwords.

DigitalHeMan Posted October 13, 2014 Share #10 Posted October 13, 2014 This problem has come up recently, perhaps after the new iOs 8 I am on 3.1.1 on iOS8 on an iPad and an iPhone 5S. But that release was released in 2009....

jdlaing Posted October 14, 2014 Share #12 Posted October 14, 2014 The problem is - inspite of me checking the "remember me" box, it doesn't!! I'm quite fed up, actually!! In the settings menu under Safari......the under General....Passwords and Autofill.......is the switch set to off or on? REMEMBER if you set it to on and someone gets your phone they can see the passwords unless you use a passcode to enter your phone.
sharookh Posted October 15, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted October 15, 2014 The auto fill is set to "on" and I have a pass code in place. I can see all my other registered passwords for different websites. But heaven knows why the Leica Forum password isn't saving on my iPhone 6! Btw my IPad Air air "auto fill" works just fine. pop Posted October 15, 2014 Share #15 Posted October 15, 2014 I used to have difficulties using the forum with Safari on my Mac which were present with no other browser. Perhaps another browser would be useful?
ho_co Posted October 20, 2014 Share #16 Posted October 20, 2014 Had the same problem as you on iPhone 6 with LUF. Called Apple. Note that on iPhone 6, AutoFill doesn't work the same as on iPad. On iPhone 6, when you log into the forum through Safari, you need to activate the login field by touching it. Doing so makes the keyboard appear, and above the keyboard is a link in blue reading "AutoFill Password." Touch that line of text, and AutoFill will automatically populate both member name and password fields. For this to work, you must have your forum password stored in iCloud, of course--something you've apparently already done. I hope that helps!
BrianUK Posted October 21, 2014 Share #17 Posted October 21, 2014 It’s not just me, then! Currently I’m using Safari and OS X Yosemite on my MacBook Pro Retina, and before Yosemite it was Mavericks with Safari. Both had ‘AutoFill’ turned on. Every time I log in to this forum (and RFF) it fails to recognise me even with ‘Remember Me’ checked. With every other website I use regularly my log in passwords are saved with Safari Password and I can log in automatically. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Grrr…

sharookh Posted October 23, 2014 Author Share #19 Posted October 23, 2014 FINALLY SORTED: Thanks to Apple Support!!! "Go to your Home screen and open Safari. If Safari is black or dark instead of white or gray, Private Browsing is on. Safari doesn't save account names and passwords when Private Browsing is on. To turn off Private Browsing: On iPad, tap the the plus icon in the upper-right corner of the Safari page, then tap Private in the lower-left corner. On iPhone and iPod touch, tap in the lower-right corner of the Safari page, then tap Private in the lower-left corner."
