alan.y Posted August 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been using a Lowepro Edit 130 (intended for a small camcorder) to fit 3 medium-sized R lenses (Lux 35, 50 e60, 80, 19 v2, 3 in bag and one on camera). See attached photo--its not of the same lenses but ones close enough in size. The bag worked well for my Contax lenses but is too tight for the R's. But I haven't been able to find another padded bag that would fit the lenses in the same way: shallow enough (top-to-bottom) to access them easily, and snug and compact with no wasted space. I've tried the higher models in the Edit series--one model up is a lot thick (front-to-back) but not wider (side-to-side), and two models up is too big in every direction. What I want is *a bit* wider and *a bit* thicker and possibly but not necessarily a bit deeper... I've also spent a lot of time going through the B&H website, Lowepro.com, etc., without any success. I gather the shape I'm going after (oblong and shallow top-to-bottom) is quite unusual. Most bags are too thick (front to back), and the small ones are not deep (top to bottom) enough. Does anyone have any suggestions? If not specific bags, then brands? Thank you. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Hi alan.y, Take a look here Seeking an oblong, shallow padded bag to fit 3 R lenses snugly. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bocaburger Posted August 31, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2014 Check the dimensions of the Domke F5XB and Billingham A2 on the BH website, I think either one might be very close to what you're looking for. The Bill is a bit more capacious.
LocalHero1953 Posted September 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2014 Note that the F5XB has no padding at the ends, one of the reasons I don't use mine any more - that and the noisy Velcro.
