Default Dear Andreas....Thumbnails Question

Hi Andreas!

The new International Forum is terrific and we all appreciate your hard work in making it a reality.

I am wondering if you might consider allowing us to post full-size images instead of the thumbnails?

This, of course, eats up bandwidth; but I think most members prefer the larger images in lieu of clicking open the thumbnail.

Thank you.

Allan

Default AW: Dear Andreas....Thumbnails Question

Dear Allan,

posting full-scale pictures is possible already now, but only with those that are already saved on a server elsewhere in the web. In your text editing window, you should have a button named "insert picture". There, you indicate the URL of your picture, that's it. It should then look similar to that:

http://www.leica-camera-user.com/showthread.php?t=59

Regards,
Marcus

You are not the only one considering full image posting.

I thin I'll give it a try and watch the traffic carefully...

Regards
Andreas

Default AW: Dear Andreas....Thumbnails Question

Hey, that's a great image - the one I posted is a demo image in Windows XP - and wasn't taken by me (and not with a Leica...)

I quite liked the thumbnails in the beta forum, as it allowed you to judge whether you wanted to see the full image or skip over it to the next one....

Saves on bandwidth, making the forum much "snappier" too.

Just my 2 penneth.

Andy,

Happen to agree with you in principal. Unfortunately, the pictures don't display as well in a new window. There are always compromises...
