Learner Posted May 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I have just just purchased a C-Lux 2. I tried to load the PS Elements program from the CD drive on my Mac iBook, running under OS 10.3.9, but to no avail. The disc kept spinning (clunking) and after a while ejected the CD. My wife was unable to load the same CD onto her Mac G4. Has anybody else had difficulty opening (loading) PS Elements? John

fernando_b Posted May 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2007 John, not an answer to your question, but from what you wrote I suspect it is not a problem of OS but a corrupted CD. You could try on third computer to verify. Fernando.
leicapages Posted May 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 23, 2007 I think you should put this question in the digital part of this forum :-)
Learner Posted May 24, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted May 24, 2007 Fernando, Pascal, Thank you for your replies ... I tried 3 machines, WIndows and Mac, to no avail. I think this little disappointment is as much a customer matter (alert) as a practical, digital matter. After all, the lure of PS was a main reason for choosing Leica over Panasonic. Learner Posted May 25, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted May 25, 2007 Here's the update... The reason the CD would not load was that it was a DVD, this despite the fact that Leica's own web advertising speaks of a "CD". Here's the copy of a caveat that I posted in the Leica forum of dpreview.com ====== I have just bought a C-Lux 2. Part of the reason for going Leica as opposed to the Panasonic FX30 was the prospect of getting Photoshop Elements. Yes, PS Elements was part of the package, but it was on a DVD; this despite Leica's own ad for the CLux 2 saying that there would a "CD" in the package. (Go to leica.com) My 6 year-old iBook lacks a DVD reader. A friend has a portable DVD reader that he can hook up to my iBook... This may solve the problem, but I might have gone Panasonic and saved about $150 if I had known about the advertising error. The enticement of getting a 2 year warranty with the Leica would have been cancelled by the fact that my charge card offers one year coverage beyond the first year. Casing aside, a few minutes with the FX30 yesterday showed that it is remarkably similar to (the same as) the C-Lux 2.
