StephenPatterson Posted April 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you are a LUF member with a 500px account please post your information here so others may follow your work. Moderators, I considered placing this thread in the bar, but as it deals specifically with showcasing images generated by members with Leica equipment (or so I hope) I thought this was the appropriate venue. bill Posted April 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted April 2, 2012 I closed my account. I saw no value in it since I do not shoot HDR, cute animals, slow shutter speed, "misty" seascapes or Russian models in states of extreme undress. Regards, Bill

I must add it back.

Keith (M) Posted April 2, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 2, 2012 Was there not a similar thread some time ago? Oh, here is mine!
StephenPatterson Posted April 3, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted April 3, 2012 Keith, I searched but didn't come up with a 500px users thread. I'm still not a fan of "flow", and I don't plan to start blogging away on 500px with their "stories" feature, but I do like the portfolio. Perhaps someday, if I start posting photos of naked Russian ladies, I will even be popular...

Overgaard Posted April 4, 2012 Share #12 Posted April 4, 2012 There is something interesting about 500px but I just haven't found a way to use it yet. I tried to use it for an internal gallery to view and work over photos with sombody but couldn't get what I wanted. Can anyone share tricks and success using 500px ..? What I really liked about it originally, and why I signed up, was because it works really well on Flip app on the iPad (where you can flip through Twitter, Flickr, 500px, Facebook, Thumblr and other accounts) 500px / Thorsten Overgaard / Photos

I believe Facebook and flickr are more for the masses, whereas 500px is mainly for pros and advanced amateurs. Yes, the voting is a little silly, and the highest marks invariably go to scantily clad woman from the East, but all in all I find it an enjoyable place. I do feel that the value of 500px is substantially reduced or eliminated if one has a dedicated website or blog, such as THORSTEN OVERGAARD official homepage - Danish feature writer and photographer - Portr Cheers,
prunelle Posted April 6, 2012 Share #15 Posted April 6, 2012 I left 500px some time ago but eventually came back to it. This is my page: 500px / Anne Schmidt / Photos.
stussy2k Posted April 6, 2012 Share #16 Posted April 6, 2012 There is something interesting about 500px but I just haven't found a way to use it yet. I tried to use it for an internal gallery to view and work over photos with sombody but couldn't get what I wanted. Can anyone share tricks and success using 500px ..? I think that the "Flow" part of 500px works much better than the equivalent "Friend's Recent Activity" on flickr at least. Excited to see what flickr will offer us with their upcoming "revamp". (Batch) editing, organising in collections, etc. can be a real pain in a browser on 500px. Wonder if the LR plugin fares better at this? I join Thorsten in the question: "Can anyone share tricks and success using 500px ..?"
rjans Posted April 15, 2012 Share #17 Posted April 15, 2012 Not Mac Safari browser friendly. Have to use Firefox to upload pictures. Will have a closer look the next days. Best

Pedro Posted October 24, 2014 Share #19 Posted October 24, 2014 Most of the links posted above are now cancelled / inactive accounts. Looks like many of our members didn't like the experience. If that's the case... What's the best alternative to 500px? Flickr? Why is it better? I'm now choosing a platform to upload and display my photos. stunsworth Posted October 24, 2014 Share #20 Posted October 24, 2014 What's the best alternative to 500px? Flickr? Why is it better? I moved back to Flickr. I prefer the look and the opportunity to see what people I 'follow' have posted. I also recognise that there are many people who don't like the way Flickr looks, I guess I'm not one of them.
