I thought I was the only one! Just a coincidence.
My lenshood of the recently purchased super elmar 21mm is not parallel to my M9. I can't screw it any further. It can happen. So I sent it back to my dealer. Just for comparison with his own demo model ( yes he has every model in stock! ) he put it on a M9. His hood was wrong the other way. So I was just wondering: Are we the only one with a € 2250 ,- lens with an " of " lenshood , or is there a pattern in the assembly of the sem 21mm?

No problem with my 21SEM. The hood that came with it is perfectly square, and I also checked with the hood from my 35 Summilux FLE (same exact hood for both lenses) and it also fits the 21SEM perfectly.
Sorry for your trouble. Is the notch on the hood fully seating against the notch on the bottom of the lens barrel? Perhaps your lens is binding due to some residue in the threads? |

Mine is marginally out (but very little indeed). I'm not sure that it bothers me enough to get it adjusted as it doesn't impinge on the images.

) . What really struck me , was the fact that the dealer also had a "wrong" one.

I thought the same about my 28mm in the beginning. The problem came when I wanted it to sell. Just for better selling I commissioned Leica to repair the thing. It costed € 145,- This time a rather let it mend during my guarantee period.
