Rotes Gesicht Iiif Slow Speed Dial

The "T"on the slow speed dial, what is that for? Sorry for such a basic question!
Thanks....Oh, and what does the "T"stand for?
Jonathan

As far as I know, "T" stands for Time exposure. If set to "T", the shutter will stay open (after you have pressed the shutter release) until you move the little slow speed knob away from "T". This setting enables you to to take very long exposures without having to press down the shutter release all the time.

T on the slow speed knob will only work if the high speed knob is set to 30 on a IIIf or 20 on the older IIIa/IIIb. However, using a cable release is the much better way for time exposures...
