Default Indy Leica Forum Day

Friday December 22nd forum members Mike Richards, Steven Wright and myself gathered at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum for some holiday cheer and Leica-shooting.

Here's a few of my results from that day. I hope Mike and Steve will join in and share their catch for the day as well on this thread.

Thanks.

Allan

Nice to know that even in a quiet backwater like Indianapolis three Leica forum members can gather together and have a productive day.

I really like Number 1. The blue is electric.

Thank you Andy!

The film is Kodak400UC, and the camera is my MP with the 50mmASPH lens.

Thanks.

Allan,

The speedway museum was a brilliant idea and great place to meet. Lots of cars from many eras.

Indy4031fsw.jpg

I attended the 500 in 1977, which was the first year a woman competed -- Janet Guthrie. She retired early in that year due to mechanical failure, as happened again in 1979. But in 1978, she started 15th and finished 9th -- her best finish. The car was the Texaco Star. Here's a shot of the Drake-Offy engine compartment.

Both shots M4-2, pre-asph 50 'Cron, Kodak freebie 400UC.

Thanks for the invitation and a very enjoyable afternoon.

Mike

Hi Mike!

Glad you made it home okay.

Shots look great. I'm glad you enjoyed the Museum. It's a great place to go on a winter day and look around.

I'm hoping Steven will post some shots, too. Last I heard from him he was in Florida goofin' off!

Have a good day!

Thanks.

Allan
