Default Pradovit projector questions

My Pradovit CA2500 arrived. It is in great condition as are the accessories. It seems like this unit didn't get much use. The packaging for the replacement bulb looks very 1970s.
The image is incredibly sharp and the unit operates smoothly. The illumination is also very even corner- to-corner. However, the projected image tends very warm (yellowing). Is this normal? If this related to the bulb used or the condensor needs cleaning? Can I do this myself?

I read about the bright light kit for the Pradovits some time ago. Maybe that can solve my problem?

Thanks.

It might also be the projection screen you are using. Also, is the lamp on full or reduced power (there is a switch at the back of the projector). In the reduced power setting, the light tends to be more yellowish.

Chris,

Best screen for Leica projection is one with a white matte surface. Also check the bulb for correct wattage. The CA2500 should come with with a 24V/250Watt bulb. Some owners changed these to a 24V/150Watt bulb. The only advantage of doing this was a reduced heat output.

Which lens came with your projector? Did you check if it is clear and without any haze? And - I appologize for this question in advance - are you projecting in a fully darkened room?

All the best,

Jan

Thanks for all the replies.

I replaced the bulb with a new one and indeed the warm tint went away. The old bulb
showed a little bit of browning inthe glass--possibly from all these years of sitting there
not getting used--which was causing the tint. It seems like this projector was a demo unit.
It came with training booklets from Leica along with a test slide. The inside is completely
prestine with no dust whatsoever.

I'm floored by the image quality this projector delivers! It is so uniformly sharp and bright.
My wife and I went through several years worth of slides and now wonder why we didn't
buy one sooner.

I guess I will stick with film for a while longer!
