When they say "What if one of them looks odd" are they referring to the photograph or the photographer? Guilty on both counts <grin>.

This isn't really a laughing matter.

This is absolutely outrageous. This is the rule of ignorance. I am in complete despair at the state this country has got into. Thanks Bush and Blair and their supporters.

Ahh, fascism, those where the days...

The fear of commies of the old days has turned to the fear of terrorists.

Frage Re: My fellow criminals...

What?!?!?!?!?!?! "Mass hysteria" and "fear" can be used to control and manipulate ?

GLAD THEY DON'T USE THOSE KIND OF TACTICS THESE DAYS ..................................

Lead paint on toys? Bird Flu ? flu vaccine shortages ? terrorists ? water shortages ? global warming ? border infiltration ? Y2K ? satellites falling ? space junk ? falling planets ? armageddon ? floods ? politics ?eschatology ?................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..............

[Do Consultants get RICH ? Do papers sell ? Are election primaries influenced ? DO parents rule by guilt ?]

What's Truth ?
Are people really have problems trusting or believing anymore ?.

Danger! Believing may be Hazzardous to your health ! Especially if you are surrounded by a constant menu of fear and controversy.

Who was it that said, "The only thing we have to fear ......... is FEAR itself?" Shmaart feller, nicht ? Was it a past American President or was it Al Gore during the Florida "hanging chads" controversy ? Or was it George Bush who said that while justifying to the United Nations reasons for going to war in Iraq? I really can't remember anymore.

If you have faith the size of a mustard seed .............. Looks like the world has managed to create a stand-off between the Seed of Fear and the Mustard Seed.

I'm rambling.... I know ...... I have lots of naivete and people have said I go Much, Much too deep into things ............... But I'm just nostalgic for some old time Trust, Honesty and INNOCENSE in the world (as I experienced it as a youngster) so that I can PHOTOGRAPH IN PEACE.

Guten Nacht, Gentlemen (Hope I spelled that correctly)

Y2K; Ohhh myyyy GOOOOD -Chandlers girlfriend in the series friends would best comment this.

Satellites falling, well what goes up must come down, and it's best when filled with DIRTY Texan PLUTONIUM and Alien bodies

Space junk, I'm not heading out into space anytime soon. Let's pollute them evil Ailens backyard. They got bases on the Moon you know.

Hysteria.

So when do we start getting arrested just for looking?

Some people have dangerous "photographic memories" you know!

Sheesh!

And in total contrast to what the thought police are trying to achieve, I stumbled across this tonight. Bolton, the town featured in the article and photographs is about 5 miles from where I live...

BBC - Manchester - Features - The science of people watching

People being asked to photograph their fellow citizens, who would have thought it.

A direct link to some of the photographs can be found here...

BBC - Manchester - Features - The Bolton Worktown project

There are several - including that first one - that I think most of us would have been proud to have taken.

This is awful. At first, I thought you were sending us up...

Most of you Brits know Banksy, I'd suppose...and those phony posters reminded me of him. You should be able to print off those posters on any decent printer, post them around your town...should destroy a campaign like this, if enough people ridicule it. If somebody there in London or some other city center needs support to print off a few hundred of these, I'd be willing to send along a few dollars to help pay for materials...

For me, the truly unsettling thing is that it's being perpetrated as a terrorism-themed persecution, which means that the po-leece have far more powers to harrass you with.

They can detain you for several lifetimes without any explanation at all.

(... and for the benefit of the tape, I think that all policemen are very nice people who are seriously underpaid and deserve much more leave. Please don't lock me up, Officer. )

I posted a link to this dangerous nonsense on another, non-photographic forum (but one that has photographers as members)

This is a response:

"if you knew someone was about to commit murder...
wouldn't you report them?
i would."

Banged to rights. Everyone of us. I despair of what is happening in this country.
