Default I can't help it! Twice!

The Chrysler building, one of my favorite buildigns in the world, keeps popping into my viewfinder. Here are two more (there are dozenhs on the NY pages on our site, including many in the lobby of the building). The first is from the north east edge of Bryant Park (In the '70s and '80s Bryant Park was a 24 hour a day dr5ug store and very scary). the second is a reflection in the east side of 300 Madison Avenue, owned by CIBC.

Stu, I maybe mistaken, but I believe that that you have taken a quite excellent photograph! The building behind 300 Madison is the Chrysler Building's Nemesis, The Empire State Building!!!

Ben -

Thank you. Actually, from this angle you cannot see the Empire State Building, completed just a few months after the Chrysler. For this shot I'm standing on the east side of Madison about five meters south of 42nd Street, aiming a degree or two north of due west to capture the reflection of the Chrysler building on the north side of 42nd Street, just east of Lexington. The Empire State Building is south-southwest from here at 5th Avenue and 34th Street, so the angle is wrong to get both buildings in one shot. I have gotten both buildings in one shot from a friends home on 54th and 2nd Avenue. I'll return there in a week or two early in the morning to get the shot again in the early morning light.

BTW: A while ago Barbara though I had enough Chrysler Building photos and couldn't get any more that she'd like. She likes these.

You can never have too many shots of the Chrysler - and these are well worth it!
