artworks produced during the year of culture. the whole oval shape, cut out of the facade, revolves in an eccentric orbit on a steel tubular stalk secured within the building.

Yes, its for real Harry. A very ingenious piece of engineering. What I like about it is that in a photograph it looks like something done with PS. The hollow axle around which the piece of facade revolves looks to be about 18 inches in diameter, holding the facade with struts rather like an umbrella, but at an offset angle. hard to explain but it does look good, doesn't it. I was in a hurry when I snapped that, hence the flare spots. I'll try and get another pic sometime and add it to this thread. cheers.
