Default 8 x K6

Introduced in 1936 the K6 telephone box is a symbol of "Englishness".
It is rumored that that virtually all telephone boxes are to be removed as so few people use them with the near universal ownership of a "mobile". Certainly it is hard to imagine today each of these eight boxes being used simultaneously although within my memory a queue waiting to use a telephone was a common sight.
Time to record them, "you don't know what you've got 'til its gone"

Chris,

nice shot.

There used to be one in front of my house - now there's just a patch of grass for me to mow.

Chris -

Delightful. Our kitchen is red and white, and we have one in there (far from full size).

A good record shot.

There's a row like this outside the National Portrait gallery.

One of my neighbours uses one in his front garden as a greenhouse.

Chris, excellent shot, especially the rendition of the reds and the white balance which are probably more correct than my intrepretation. Very sharp too. I also hope that we never see the departure of these wonderful icons of Britishness.

Can we turn this into a phone box thread?

1. Royal Courts of Justice - two different types, side by side, probably used to be besieged by journos phoning in their stories (M8 lux35asph)

2. Tomb for Sir John Soane (St Pancras Old Church) - often cited as the inspiration for the design of the distinctive cupola on the phone box. (M8 cv50 Nokton)

3. Red Box, Red Pub, Led Zep - still one of my favourite shots from last year, on my trusty old R-D1 with the lux35 asph

John, Stuart, and Andy thanks for the kind comments.
Louis, my red benefitted from a slight saturation push in C1 but that new auto white balance coped well.
I did a series of post boxes some years ago so the potential is there. I do like the Scottish island shots that turn up with a very isolated box standing out like a beacon.
Thanks for the tomb I'm not enough of a buff to have known that.

Thinking of milestones next btw we have two near our house a keep mentally framing.

A nice series from both of you - and a good idea Louis - I'll keep my eyes open!
