Default In the shadow of the bells

Ripperologists will recognise a view of the Hawksmoor church in Spitalfields from the corner of Fournier Street and with the crumbling facade of the Ten Bells pub in the foreground. I just liked the juxtaposition of Victorian gin palace (reputedly where the Ripper met two of his victims) and the daunting edifice of Christ Church, completed in 1729.
