According to the Killeen Daily Herald, The Grove was a living antique in 1972 when Anderson bought the place and turned it into a museum town filled with his own personal collection of Texas and Western memorabilia.

Anderson was convinced by family that it was better to sell the place, according to KWBU.

According to Cowboys and Indians magazine, Anderson held an auction in 2010 which the properties were sold at a total of $200,000. Moyer, the purchaser, was living in San Jose, California. She grew up in the town where her grandfather owned a general store.

Jim,

Short of a couple of gunslingers on horseback and a buckboard in front of the General Store, we would be living in a Hollywood set for "Gun smoke".

Paul

The movie folks from Hollywood used a bunch of the original owners items in different movies.
