Wilfredo -

Especially because of the angle and the extra strong contrast this is a winner.

Wilfredo,

Love the grain in the glass and the play of light in the chrome and how you can just notice the one guy seems to notice and not approve of your picture taking. The angle you chose to take this at really makes this shot. It has everything going for it.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I guess the guy looking into the camera does feel a bit uncomfortable with a camera pointed at him from below :-) Funny how most people in urban settings avoid eye contact except when they see a lens pointing at them. Then they look either out of curiosity, surprise, suspicion, or outright dis-approval.

Cheers,

The high contrast suits your find, Wilfredo. Very nice.

Nice one Wilfredo. What film did you use for this?

Andy,

This was done with Ilford XP2. At this time it has become my favorite B&W film. As you probably know, it is easy to scan with excellent results as far as I am concerned. I'm glad you liked it. I think I will add this photo to the Shadows and Silhouttes collection on my wbsite. This has been an emerging theme in my photography although it has not been intentional, just something that seems to be developing.

Interesting. I was only saying on some posts over the weekend that I don't like it and find the scans less than pleasing

I've been pleased with the results, although I always have to desaurate after scanning to get rid of the purple tint. I'm just now trying Kodak T-MAX 100, I'll see how that goes :-)

Wilfredo, I keep coming back to this and it just gets better and better. The high contrast works really well. In fact, everything works really well. I could never make myself like XP2, but your photo convinced me to give it another try.

Bojan,

I would give it another try. Here's another shot I posted over a month ago shot on the same roll of film that got lots of positive feedback. ©Wilfredo Benitez

Wilfredo,

Like Bojan I keep coming back to this. I didn't have the time to get there when in the city while back to the States for a visit, now I'm sorry I didn't.

There is so many pleasing elements in this, I'm glad I came back to it, now discovering another one equally but not quite as good.

Bojan and Richard,

Thanks for coming back :-) You never really know what will capture someone's imagination. I find that there are pictures I often go back to by a variety of photographers because I need to spend time just soaking them in. I think this is the power and magic of art. Anselm Adams once said that the great pictures are the one's that you remember. I'm not claiming any greatness here but I am honored that you've seen something in these pictures.

Cool Re: Walking on Glass

By the way, I didn't buy an Apple, I remain a PC user. I hope this does not ignite a war.

Wilfredo, the second one is beautiful, too. I am definitely giving XP2 a try. I know what you mean about coming back to certain photographs. These cetainly deserve the attention they are getting

P.S. Oh and I shall forgive you the PC for as long as you keep posting such gems.

All the best
