euston Posted April 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have some photos of the exterior of Durham Cathedral which I’ll be posting during the week. Photography is not permitted inside but here’s one that slipped through the net. X Vario at 28mm (FFE) 1/50 at f/3.5, ISO 3200 Welcome, dear visitor! A miller Posted April 7, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2014 Very beautiful clear image given the open aperture and high iso. It sure is a glorious space

Michael Hiles Posted April 8, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 8, 2014 Fine picture of a wonderful place. I am a little surprised that they no longer allow photography. I have many interior shots - from many years ago.
euston Posted April 8, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks very much, everyone! For a snatched shot I thought it came out quite well, so I’m pleased you like it too.

masjah Posted April 11, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 11, 2014 Very well-composed, even more so given that it was taken surreptitiously! (They've been snotty about photography for ages; there's a brief discussion about this in a much earlier post of mine, Salisbury Cathedral). euston Posted April 11, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted April 11, 2014 Thanks, John. That's a lovely photo you posted in your Salisbury Cathedral thread. I photograph there occasionally and it is indeed a most welcoming place. I stroll in with my dog and no-one turns a hair. Salisbury always gets a donation from me when I visit. Durham didn't. Durham Cathedral is one of my favourite buildings and it's so disappointing not to be able to photograph the interior.
Louis Posted April 14, 2014 Share #10 Posted April 14, 2014 Robert, somehow I missed this wonderful B/W shot! It is masterly composed with beautiful and rich tones! A great shot!
