Clicking Threads vs New Posts
When I click on the title of an unread thread, I want to go to the first post in the thread to read in sequence. However, no matter what I click, I'm taken to the newest post and have to scroll up to read the original post. I find this behavior annoying.
If I want to read the latest posts, I can click on the link for the newest posts on the forum index or click Today's Posts under Quick Links. There seems to be no way to go straight to the first post of an unread thread. |

What browser are you using? Firefox does exactly what you want.

Why not see if
User CP /Edit Options go down to Thread Display Options and select "Linear Oldest First" .... which will bring you in always to the original posters thread. Is that sort of what you mean? Last edited by rob_x2004 : 01/07/08 at 11:06 AM. |

I use Firefox at home and IE at work. My settings are for linear oldest first, but when I click on a thread title, it always takes me to the newest post and I have to scroll up to see the first post in the thread. Sometimes the Photo forum shows me the original post first. It's not always consistent, though.

I always get to the first post when clicking on any link OTHER THAN the one in the summary page.

Ok, that works if I go under a particular forum heading and click a thread title. That's why it works in the Photo forum, because I go under a major heading and click the various thread titles.
