Rating photographs in gallery

I see star ratings (almost all are blank) in all the gallery photos. How does one rate a photograph or receive ratings? If members can't do it, who does?

The function has not been enabled, nor has the "Comments" function.

Andreas, I'm not sure if the current rating system makes sense in a shared gallery. It seems as though there is only a single rating for each image, and the last rating wins. If each user's rating contributed to an average score - that might be more useful.

Could be I've misunderstood how it works of course.

it's alredy the way you suggested - it's the average that is shown.
Shouldn't be only full stars but also a digit behind the comma.
