Has anyone noticed that our names have disappeared from the signature block. Also I got a strange pop up when I tried to post a reply with a quote asking me to agree to a lengthy list of conditions.Or have I been drinking too much and seeing Pink elephants!

Who are you guys
![]() Had me stumped for half the day, the Quick reply had disappeared as well. After the user agreement screen...all is well again. There was a big fuss about displaying names a wile back on the German side, I guess Andreas figured it may be best to make some changes. Peter |

Sorry for that!
Because of German privacy laws I had to make some changes to the rules and take out the full names. In the German forum a already made an announcement but here I'm a little bit late. The acknowledgement to the new rules was planned fo the next week - my fault that it popped up this night! Best regards from Bonn Andreas Jürgensen

Is it OK to have my name displayed if I myself have incorporated it into my signature?

Of course everyone is free to include the full name into your postings or signature.
I don't like this rule too but I do respect the wish for privacy of some members and I have to observe German laws. Andreas

Is it possible to have the option to include your full name and still satisfy German legal requirements? That way we could each choose not to include our name or other details. Pete.

I prefer the signature solution where the user types in his/her name. Clicking a checkbox without knowing the consequences leads to whining afterwards: "I didn't know that the WHOLE internet will see my name..." OK? Best regards from Bonn Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Your current statement under the "Name" field is explicit that this forum will not publish nor divulge the name - so until that statement is changed, communicated and agreed - you should/must not publish the name in the Avatar. My other suggestion would be for a tick box to allow people the choice - but that was answered above. Yours Ravi Last edited by bindrar : March 1st, 2008 at 05:48 AM. |
