I also agree. I look at the forum only every few days. and it is embarrassing to have an acknowledgement of comments pushed to the top of page 1.
Could the original thread be left where it was?

John.

Two hours later, I had two new friends and felt entirely invigorated by the whole experience. It was tactile, I have been missing that and frankly, I got more out of it as a person than any time I spend on the internet.

The internet is a great place to show and share your work, but after all this time with it, I personally just need a different space to engage with people. So I am trying to attain a balanced diet of the real natural world and the internet and it is working.

So in a way, I am being involved by posting this and I hope you can see that, it's the best I can do right now...:-)
Wait...a...minute.... So you are saying that chatting face to face with two lovely young ladies over coffee beats hanging around with us. Frankly I'm a bit hurt by this

I'm not sure how this would work in a threaded discussion forum like the one we use.

Personally, I wish we could have a Flickr group like interface where I can see thumbnails of submitted images, and page through the recent additions. It would be a much more efficient way to view the images than drilling into threads. Actual discussion of the images could be threaded, as it is in Flickr.
Absolutely support such an idea. It is boring to first have to open a post to see an image. The thumbnail would in a glance tell you if it is interesting. Now the post message often looks like a joke or coming from some kind of prankster trying to be funny.

Pranksters and fun; on this forum? Shirley shome mishtake? Let's be having none of that, taking photographs is a serious business.

The idea of being able to look at a thumbnail appeals to me too. No idea if this is possible with the forum software but there does appear to be a sort of thumbnail gallery thing going on on the screen which I log in on.
