I AM interested in an M8. Some of the nay-sayers are interested in a M8.

What many are NOT interested in are some of the solutions to Leica's problems that have been speculated on to date.

Since Leica has not officially provided their plan of action to solve these problems, it may be a good thing that they know potential customers are not interested in the M8 as it is now, nor with any Duct tape solutions.

Marketing 101 my friend ... to grow your business, you listen to potential prospects while avoiding the alienation of your current brand loyalists.

Currently Leica cannot sell this camera to all of their die-in-the-wool Leica loyalist. How then can they conquest new customers that will evaluate with their head not their heart?

If Leica doesn't at least attract it's brand loyalist to this camera in great quantities, AND conquest a certain % of new converts, it could financially fail ... or become an off-shoot of some ice-hearted corporation looking for a status Marque ... like Ford and Jaguar ... and we all saw what that can mean ... initial improvements, then a corporate homogenization.
