Some answers and threads are quite laughable!!!

First I must say that I have astigmatism... so since I was 7 years old ( I am 39 now) I wear 1 filter in front of each of my eyes and I am not planning to bring my parents to court!

Second since I started taking pictures I was told. PROTECT YOUR LENS with a filter... UV ones are ok for the job... so having a filter on lenses is common to many of us.

Third since I use digital I read, the problem with digital is that people rely to much on post production and they no longer user filters to get all the effects they need or wish from the very first moment they imagine and compose their picture. There are less photo makers and more photo takers.

Fourth, there are often articles about IR photography.... and many say, since digital cameras have appeared it is sometimes difficult to get a camera to see IR... it was easier with films and filters

Fifth since I read this forum I see 2 kind of readers / writers. The one who say no way I'd spend US$ 5000 on a camera.... I can hardly understand why they keep coming here and give opinion about a product they will never buy nor use. And on the other hand, people who are willing to spend or have spent US$ 5000 on an M8 and they see as acceptable to do what they have ALWAYS done in the past... USE FILTER

Sixth but what REALLY makes me laugh is to read that someone willing to spend US$ 5000 on a body plus US$ 2000 to US$ 10000 on M Lenses say...... "what??? buy an US$ 80 filter???????????????"

My questions to them are....:

1- Is using a filter a problem?
2- are US$ 80 not affordable to you?

My answers to them are:

1- well I do not see al the fuss about traditional Leica photography and photographers, the beauty of taking your time, chosing your material, composing etc if all of a sudden using a filter is a great problem. Weren't we used to put our yellow, red etc. filter to get the clouds and sky etc. have the right contrast?????

2- if US$ 80 is to much money for anyone reading this, well, it sounds like he has been lying about is intention of buying Leica or he is really not aware of the cost of using this kind of material. He sounds like the guy who buys a sixth hand twenty year old 911 Porshe and then realize he will not be able to pay for the insurance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Conclusion:

Not happy with using filters or not able to pay for it??? return your M8 or don't buy any if you have not done it yet.... but please if you do either options LEAVE THIS FORUM WE DO NOT NEED MORE NEGATIVE FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THIS PRODUCT !!!!!!!!!!!!! 100% of Leica dealers will refund your money so please if you don't want it, send it back, don't buy it, cancel your pre-order, write yourself off waiting lists AND GIVE US A BREAK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
