These are a nice set of shots and exceptional for your first roll. Please post more of your work.

I don't know where you have got this from, but I am sorry this is completely wrong. My Coolscan V has scanned a hundred traditional B&W silver films over the last couple of years with no problems whatsoever.
All you have to do is turn off the ICE function. You can't automatically get rid of dust and spots like you can with colour negatives or slides so you have to be even more careful with your negatives.
(BTW, there was a month long argument on the old forum about scanning silver B&W film. One fellow said it was impossible. Many others proved him wrong. Let's not start another un-necessary discussion
